Homework is usually given Monday-Thursday in science and is designed to take between 15-30 minutes. Occasionally you may be given an online assignment for you to complete over the weekend.

Interactive Notebook Supplies-Please be sure your parents receive this. Although all notebook supplies should have been listed on the 6th grade school supply list, it is very important you have these with you Monday, August 12!!
Shoebox You-due Wednesday, August 7 For this assignment you are to bring in a shoebox(or lunch bag) that has a minimum of 3(maximum of 5) objects that represent you as a person. These may be anything that is meaningful to you and represents who you are. For instance, if you have a beloved pet dog you may put a dog toy in the box. Be ready to explain to the class why you chose the items you did.

Science in the workplace Interviews- due Monday August 12. Today you will begin working on your science in the workplace interviews. Your assignment is to find 3 adults to interview that use science on their job. So often we think of scientists as someone who works in a lab, but that is not always true. This assignment is designed to make us more aware of how many occupations rely on science daily.
You are to ask the following interview questions of the adults you select. If you know three scientists that's great! It will be equally interesting to find three people who use science in their jobs, that we would not have suspected.
Please ask each of the people you interview the following questions, you may of course add questions to your interview if you find out something interesting:
What is your full name?
Where do you work(company)?
What is your job title?
Give me a short description of your job.
Do you use science in any way in your occupation? Please explain.
